The second and strongest wave of cold front “Elpis” that has been sweeping across Greece since Saturday is still ongoing. According to E.M.Y. (Hellenic National Meteorological Service), the main characteristics of the second wave are extremely low temperatures, heavy snowfall -even in flat areas of northern and eastern Greece, as well as the Aegean islands- and northern winds of Beaufort force 8 to 9 in the east.

The weather's instability in our country continues for the 9th consecutive day. According to the latest predictions, on June 2nd, rain and storms are expected from noon both in mainland and island areas as described by the meteorology department of EPOMEA Peanias.

The volunteers of EP.OM.E.A. Municipality of Athens, Municipality of Egaleo, Thessaloniki and Lokroi will continue today the efforts to find the 90-year-old missing person.

Investigations are continuing to locate the missing man. In the research, volunteers from EPOMEA Athens and Egaleo operated during the research and tomorrow, Monday, volunteer rescuers from EPOMEA Thessaloniki and EPOMEA Lokroi.
