On Wednesday, September 20th, around 21:00, a large scale fire was ignited in the Koutsi area of the municipality of Nemea. The forces of the fire brigade fought with the flames during the night.
The fire could not be controlled even after 24 hours. The total disaster counts forest and rural damage.

Volunteers of EPOMEA Velou Voha, rushed to help in the difficult task of the fire brigade, by financially supporting and manning a fire vehicle.

With the voice of Alkistis Protopsaltis and under the direction of Stavros Xarchakos, another health coverage of the theater Gi in Thessaloniki, has come to its conclusion. Volunteers of EPOMEA Pavlos Melas, faithful to their duty, offered their services to the attendees of the event for the successful, but above all, safe conduct of the concert.

The Region of Thessaly, the Naval Sports Association of Larissa (NEL), the Municipality of Agia, the Cultural Association of Velikas "Filoktitis" and the Café Spitaki co-organized the 12th Panhellenic Marathon Swimming Camp "Filoktitis".

The race was held on Sunday September 3rd, 2017 and included two parallel 10 and 5 km long runs. The start of the ten kilometer race was settled at the harbor of Agiokambos at 11 a.m. while the 5 kilometers race began from the beach of Kato Sotiritsa at 1 p.m. . The end of both runs was at the beach of Velika on the organized coast, in front of the Café Spitaki.

"Filoktitis" has been a major athletic event for the past twelve years and a unique reference point for the region since it is the only one - of its kind - offshore race to be held in the prefecture of Larissa. The participation of swimming athletes from Larissa, Thessaloniki, Athens, Halkidiki, Skiathos and other regions of Greece with ages ranging from 14 to 67 years is a key feature of the race!

Health promoter of the match was EPOMEA Larissa, as well as the newly established Larissa Diving Club.

The organisation of such an event would never be possible without the provision of first aid. The management board could never bestow their trust to more capable hands than those of the Volunteers of EPOMEA Sintiki, who offered their services to both observers and athletes. With the help of the team's President, Dr Mousidis Gregory, the event came to its successful conclusion.

A new section was added to the family of EPOMEA Greece with the creation of EPOMEA, Municipality of Markopoulo.
At the meeting held in the Civil Protection Office of the Municipality of Markopoulo between Deputy Mayor Mr. Stampelos Fanis, Civil Protection Officer Mr Sideris Stylianos and the Head of the Region of Central Greece, Southern Greece and the Islands as well as the Vice-President of EPOMEA Egaleo Mr. Lachanas Konstantinos, the beginning of this collaboration was sealed and welll embraced by all involved groups.
The President of EPOMEA Mr. Miltiadis Benakis, in a telephone conversation with the delegates, expressed his joy and satisfaction for: "... .the immediate positive response to the call of EPOMEA Greece to establish an annex in the Municipality of Markopoulo, with the main purpose of selflessly serving our fellow citizen..." and wished "... a good start to the new beginning of the Municipal Authority and the volunteer colleagues ".
